The Danish concept of ‘hygge’ (pronounced hue-guh) encourages us to embrace togetherness, warmth, wholeness and pleasure in everyday moments. The word isn’t meant to be translated, rather felt. So there is no surprise why the Danes are generally considered the happiest people on the planet, topping the UN’s annual World Happiness Report year after year.
It is no wonder then that Malaysian media personality and new mother, Patricia Knudsen along with her team consisting of celebrity cook Ili Sulaiman and event planner Allia Merzouk has launched a range of unique baby food called… drumrolls please… Hygge Babies!
The importance of her 15-month old daughter’s growth and happiness as well as other mommies and their little ones’ has always been something Patricia has held close to heart. This spurred her to come up with a range of baby food that is both nutritious and delicious. Hygge Babies aims to lend busy parents a much appreciated helping hand, but celebrates the pleasure of living in Malaysia by giving parents the opportunity to introduce their little ones to the opulence of local flavours without compromising on nutrition or taste.
During the launch on January 24th, 2017 at The Social, Publika, guest had fun with a food-tasting contest, portrait booth by fine artist Fayfay Xiao Ting and the little ones were entertained by popular Malaysian singer-songwriter and rapper – SonaOne, who read Dive In! by Recess Monkey and The Color Monster by Anna Llenas.
While we mommies can learn a thing or two from the Danes on how to be 'Hygge', let's start with keeping our children healthy and their tummies happy.
