Thursday, November 9, 2017
Who says bath time can't be fun?
Perhaps, it is a good idea to rack up some leftover art supplies from the year and dive into the pool of creativity with these cork boats that are incredibly easy to make! Use your imagination and tell your child a story about the pirate and his friends or better still, let him tell you a story instead.
Colourful Foam Sheets
Painting Supplies (Best to use acrylic paint)
Air Dry Clay (preferably white)
Hot Glue Gun
How to make your unique cork boat?
Take a piece of cork board and cut it into the size of 5cm x 10cm.
Cut foam sheet into half the size of your cork board.
Paint and decorate the foam sheet however you'd like.
Create 2 holes on your foam sheet, top and bottom.
Use a stick and poke it through both holes on the foam sheet to create your sail.
To assemble your boat, mark a spot in the middle for your sail and secure it with a hot glue gun.
As for the sailor, grab some air dry clay and mould it into a shape and size of a peanut shell. Leave it to dry.
Once the clay is dry you can paint and add details to your clay.
Lastly, secure your sailor with hot glue gun. (Additionally, you could add extra props for your boat such as a canon.)
Tadaa! Now you have an awesome boat to take for a swim!
